record the streaming H.264 video

I use vlc-0.8.4a to receive the streaming H.264 file by rtsp://x.x.x.x/x.mp4. it works well. However I want to record the received video stream. I tried to use wizard to transcode the streaming H.264 file with dummy specified. It doesn't work. Could you please tell me how to do it in VLC-0.8.4a ?
