vlc on fedora core

vlc on fedora core

Hi.............
I am using "vlc-0.8.4a" when i gave the command, following message are comming
[root@node230 vlc-0.8.4a]# ./configure
.................
.............
checking for mad.h... no
configure: error: Could not find libmad on your system: you may get it from http://www.underbit.com/products/mad/. Alternatively you can use --disable-mad to disable the mad plugin.

Then i am trying to install mad...
the following message are comming.............

checking mad.h presence... no
checking for mad.h... no
configure: error: mad.h was not found
*** You must first install libmad before you can build this package.
*** If libmad is already installed, you may need to use the CPPFLAGS
*** environment variable to specify its installed location, e.g. -I<dir>.
Then i am installed libmad-0.15.1b"
[root@node230 libmad-0.15.1b]# ./configure"
libmad successfully installed.............
After that , when i am trying to installing "madplay-0.15.2b" , same ERROR is comming...

How i can proceed???????????
anybody help me..............?

There are Fedora RPM's

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html

you dont have to install from source follow the link above. You can also use yum

yum install vlc
