I apologize for losing my patience in a previous topic. I agree that the fact that the Linux Mint site installs an old version of VLC (3.0.16) is a Linux Mint problem and not a VLC problem. However, In my opinion, the fact that the official VLC website refers to the Linux Mint site that installs the old version is a VLC problem. On webpage https://www.videolan.org/vlc/#download, if you click on "Get VLC for Mint", you are referred to page https://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/vlc. This page installs version 3.0.16.
I think you should change the site https://www.videolan.org/vlc/#download to not refer to Mint since it installs a version you do not support.
