How to undo hiding VLC in taskbar

Postby mogplus8 » 04 Apr 2024 05:04

Hi All,
I wanted to set VLC so it would continue to play in the background without appearing in the normal task bar (across the bottom of the screen), and just have it in the systray when I closed VLC. I found a suggestion that said set "start VLC with only a systray icon", so I did that. Now I can't get the VLC screen to display at all. All I can see is a reference to VLC when I click on the volume icon in the systray, but there are only player control buttons. How can I get the normal screen back again?
I am on the latest version of Linux Mint / Cinnamon. VLC version is 2.0.16.
All advice gratefully received.
