Audio/video files window resizing

If I open an audio file and drag the VLC window to its minimum size (with controls showing), then close VLC and open the audio file again, it remembers the previous size.

However, if I then open a video file, close it, then open an audio file, the window size is now the same as it was when displaying the video.

Is there anyway I can make VLC always open audio files with minimum window size, while always opening video files at their full display size?
