How to use VLC web access to play audio files?

Postby chrisisbd » 28 Dec 2022 14:10

I have installed VLC (version 3.0.18) on a (headless) Raspberry Pi system and I have run the following command there to start up the web interface:-

vlc -I http --http-password XXXXX

I can successfully access the interface from other systems on my home LAN, however I'm stumped on how to make it possible to play audio files. I have some directories full of MP3 and FLAC files on the RaspberryPi server, how do I get them to appear in VLC's "Media Library" (I'm assuming that's the way to make the audio files available to play).
