WinTV-PVR USB2

Postby Videoman » 05 Feb 2006 14:24

Hi all

Can anyone tell me whether VLC can work with WinTV-PVR USB2 to stream a TV channel to internet or not ? What I know is that VLC can only work with WinTV-PVR-350 under Linux.

Thanks

Hi e6964822

1) Is one Hauppauge winTV-PVR350 only stream one channel to internet at a time?

2) If I want two streams for two channels at the same time, does it mean that I need to install two Hauppauge winTV-PVR350?

3) If yes, can I install them in same computer?

Thanks

You can ask to Hauppauge if you can install two computer captur cards.

You can see the Haupauge web the inputs of this video capture. 350 have on inputs for: TV, s-video, radio FM, audio.

Outputs: video/audio

Exist some captures that have 5 video inputs.

You can definitely install more than one in a computer.
Or you can get a PVR500 which has 2 tuners (equivalent to 2 PVR150s)
In fact, I have 2 PVR500s running together here and am streaming 4 channels as a test.

The PVR card is quite expensive so I have to confirm how it work under VLC control before I buy the cards for the test. Can you please do me a favor?

1) What OS are you currently using ? Windows or Linux.
2) Can I remotely change the TV channel by VLM or I have to susing the remote unit of the PVR to change the channel?
3) What I know at this moment there is a limitation in VLC which cannot classify same enumerated name. For example, I got two Logitech web cam (Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 and Logitech Quickcam communicate STX). VTC cannot control both web cam in same VLM. I have to open two VLC sessions. Another example is viewtopic.php?t=16319
. Is this limitation also applied to TV card?

Much Thanks
