Default Audio O/P device

Postby pharsea » 01 Dec 2021 10:58

When I run VLC on my Rpi3B, one audio O/P device option I am given is

"built in audio analog stereo"

I can select this manually, and it works fine.

This is the one that I wish to use, whenever I run VLC;
but it is NOT the linux default
and I don't want to make it the linux default.

Can I somehow configure VLC so that it always uses this option
(the on-board Jack plug) as its own default?

Solved:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Tools
Preferences
Show Settings ALL
Audio
Output modules ALSA audio output
ALSA plughw:0,0

SAVE
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

However, when I look at what things are now set to,
I do not see "plughw:0,0"
but rather a long list of alternatives,
which I have not bothered to select an option from.

What matters is that !!!!IT WORKS!!!!
