VLC process stays after player is closed with "X" button

Postby michaelgr » 26 Dec 2020 17:26

This started happening a while ago - a few days. If I close the VLC player using the "X" button in the top left of the window, VLC isn't shut down properly. The windo is closed but the process remains and has to be killed if I want to watch another video.
If I use Media-->Quit the process is shut down properly.

Any ideas? is it only my system or have others experienced it?

I'm on Mint 20, VLC 3.0.11.1 vetinry, running on an intel NUC.

If you are using Mesa drivers, this is a known bug.

Is there a known fix or an upcoming fix for this?
