VLC menu bar oddness.

VLC (Solus linux) menu bar doesn't seem to work right, the options comes up when I click something, but it is just solid black? I can't see what it says

That seems like a problem with Solus packaging of VLC, and I do not know that the concerned maintainers would roam here.
