Set up a sorted library like Android app or Windows Media Player?

Postby Music345 » 22 Jul 2020 15:32

I'm new to Linux, and installed VLC to use as a replacement for Windows Media Player.
I really like the VLC Android app, where everything is nicely sorted and I can view by artist, album, or individual tracks, very similar to Windows Media Player.
Are there settings I can change or a way to organize the folder to make VLC do something similar in Linux?
When I bring things into the media library, it stays sorted by folder, and really hard to work with. I tested moving some out into a singe directory then trying, but that's a lot of work, I lost some of the album art, and it still doesn't work well.
Any advice to make VLC for Linux more like VLC for Android?

Thanks, I'll watch for that! Thanks to the development team for working on a great program.
