[Ubuntu] Unable to download subtitles

I am using 18.04 Ubuntu with 3.0.7 VLC. Both VLC and Ubuntu is fully updated. The problem is that I am not able to download subtitle through VLC automatically. When I select a subtitle and tries to download, it shows the following error message



I am then forced to download the subtitle through the browser ( " Click here to open the file " ), unzip it and add to the corresponding folder. If possible, help me fix it. Thanks.

I tried to download the same way in my dual boot Windows 10 for the same machine. It worked.



I don't know what is wrong in Ubuntu 18.04. Possibly the folder where the subtitle is downloaded. Which folder is that ?
