Record Button & resulting video quality

Postby ThePowerTool » 27 Jul 2018 04:05

I'm no expert. I know how to rtfm and search. I have successfully used the record button and been very happy with my results on numerous occasions.

Now that I'm trying to surprise my wife--I found something she really likes, downloaded a 1080p version that plays beautifully, and am trying to make a short clip to loop on her computer as a surprise.

With that tiny bit of information could anyone take a guess as to why this one time the video plays poorly? It starts with a kinda-of gray screen then in the middle of play I get pixelation--I don't know if that's the correct term but it looks like little tiny boxes across the entire screen and sometimes they are green (other times not). This only happens on the small clip i created using the record button--the original large file plays flawlessly (as best as I can tell).

I'm happy to provide any additional technical detail upon request--I'm just not sure what to provide without prompting (and possibly instructions).

Thank you very much!

Because record does not work in all cases. You need to re-encode for that.
