Since upgrading to 8.4a I get a short burst of noise out of my Dolby Digital amp when I start playing a movie. This didn't happen with 0.8.3. My guess is that a buffer is not initialised to zeros on start up and so random data is sent over S/PDIF?
I'm using Debian and ALSA. I've upgraded to the last nightly build and it still has the problem.
