Recording streaming multicast

Postby telperion » 26 Dec 2005 20:27

I have a Debian Sarge Stable distribution, and i have installed vlc as follows:

apt-get install vlc

I have no installed Xwindows.

I am triying to record a multicast streaming in this machine using command line:

vlc udp://@239.255.255.1 :demux dump :demuxdump-file file.png

But I get the errors:

[00000249] skins2 interface error: Cannot open display
[00000249] skins2 interface error: Cannot initialize OSFactory
Interfaz inicializada de control remoto, `h' para ayuda
libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder): TS discontinuity (received 10, expected 0)
libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder): TS discontinuity (received 10, expected 0)
[00000323] xvideo video output error: cannot open display
[00000323] x11 video output error: cannot open display
[00000328] glx private error: Cannot open display
[00000328] glx private error: no GLX support

And I can see the video in the screen with strange caracters.

But when I leave vlc with quit (i do not known how I can stop it) nothing is recorded in the output file.

It is possible to record from command line with vlc a multicast streaming?

I need to install something more?

Thanks and regards.
