problem in deleting entries from playlist

I am currently using "VLC media player 0.8.4 (wxWidgets interface)".
All was well when I installed it initially but lately there is very annoying problem that has surfaced which is that whenever I delete entry from playlist my VLC gets hung up and ultimately I have to make it force quit.

Also note that when I rn VLC from command line I got the following error a startup

** (:2708): CRITICAL **: file src/gtk/win_gtk.c: line 462 (gtk_pizza_set_size): assertion `pizza != NULL' failed
that gives me the feeling thta there is something wrong with the "wxGTK-2.6.2" that I installed.

Please anybody having any suggestion...I am running it on Fedora Core 2

here is the error when I start from command line; all songs run(even though the error shows fie not sound) well the only problems come in removing them -
