Chromecast support for Linux
I read that development versions of VLC support Chromecast on Windows (but not Linux). If this information is (still) accurate, what is the obstacle to getting it to work on Linux? If it needs someone to spend some time porting some code then I'm tempted to do some work on it.

So after 2 days, some moderator (who presumably knows a lot about VLC) has gone to the effort of reading this post and then moving it to a different forum, but hasn't bothered to encourage this offer of help or to share knowledge about chromecast...
Is there anyone helpful who knows whether it's correct that chromecast is only supported on Windows?
