video playback freezes in fullscreen mode

This version it's from rpmfusion repository in fedora 25 box

steps to reproduce
- download https://archive.org/download/sample_mpe ... _mpeg4.mp4
- start vlc in command line:

$ vlc --verbose 3 --fullscreen > vlc_output.log 2>&1

- load video and double click to full screen
- pass mouse over progress bar/video seeek until tooltip was showed. See printscreen http://tinypic.com/r/iof4zn/9 . Current position is 00:01 and tooltip show 00:03. It's requerid pass mouse over advanced position.
- system freeze until video ending; mp4 audio continues to playback but the video/gnome/all system is completely frozen.



I searched in linux forum and no found same issue:

System freeze can pretty much only be a bug in the window manager or the display drivers.

Can be this, but it's be nice if someone try reproduce this in diferent system.

I also have the same problem you described.
If you could get to the root of that, I would be very happy to know what to do to solve it.

I had identical problem on MacBook Pro, High Sierra 10.13.5, VLC v3.0.3.
Changing Basic -> Video -> Fullscreen settings -> Use native fullscreen mode had no effect on the problem.

I solved it by unchecking in VLC preferences Show All -> Video -> Fullscreen video output.
