VLC randomly skipping short podcasts

Postby daveinmanc » 18 Jan 2017 15:38

Hello Folks,

I am experiencing a weird scenario on VLC(2.1.6) on a Linux mint 17.3 laptop, have searched around and found either subjects not quite fitting my description or posts that have been unanswered for years.

Listening to short podcasts (say less than an hour) the player stops a few minutes in and then proceeds to the next podcast which stopos after a few minutes in and then proceeds to the next podcast / rinse / repeat to the end of the podcasts list.

If I play a long podcast of several hours it plays the lot flawlessly.

Can someone point me in the right direction, it sometimes doesn't happen, my podcast list doesn't change often, I can't find a definitive answer it seems, so is there a dump of info somewhere that I can post that someone can interpret and maybe troubleshoot please ??

Thank you. Dave

Sounds like the HTTP connection dies. Try VLC 3.0.
