Debian Sarge: '--sout-keep' doesn't work ...

Postby It's Deano » 30 Nov 2005 13:40

... The flag '--sout-keep' doesn't work. '--sout' is fine. Anyone got any ideas as to why ...?

... According to the docs :

"--sout-keep, --no-sout-keep
Keep sout open (default disabled) : use the same sout instance across the various playlist items, if possible."

... So I'm using the command line:
"vlc --sout-keep '#transcode{vcodec=DIV3,acodec=mp3,channels=2,scale=1}:std{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=:'8505'}' --loop -I http --http-host broadcast:9505 "

This fails immediately. Remove 'keep' from the 'sout' flag and the VLC fires up OK.

Incidentally that's not the only flag that fails; 'Threads=' fails to allow VLC to start up, too.
