subtitles size

Postby bernd_b » 20 Nov 2015 22:52

Am I alone with this?

I desperately try to change the subtitle size of text-subtitle, srt-Files e.g.

Of course there is the option "Font size under "Tools - Subtitles /OSD". With this, I can change the size of the OSD-Text like the file name showed when starting playback very effectively . But the subtitles shown seem to take no interest of this setting, they seem to be shown in always the same (small) size.

 :?: Has anyone an idea what I miss to adjust the subtitles size? :?:

It depends on the type of subtitles. For some, changing the style is simply impossible.

Sorry for comming back so late.
But for srt-File - meaning pure text-based subtitles files - the option "Font size" should apply with the same effect it does to the OSD-messages, shouldn't it?

O.K, the blame is on my side -
my subtitles are extracted with the help of ffmpeg from TV recordings and - I don't know since when? - the do(!) contain style information although they claim to be plain-text-subtitles (*srt). In my case, these are taken into account by vlc or overwritten by commandline with mpv.
Thanks for watching!!!
