MP4 doesn't play.

Postby Crippled » 08 Sep 2015 01:18

I have VLC player 2.2.1 in openSuse13.2 KDE and when I try to watch a MP4 video I see no video and only have sound. I get this error message. Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "h264" (H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10)) . How to make it work?

Install the VLC libavcodec plugin.

Install the VLC libavcodec plugin.
I have all plugins installed. From where?

If you had all plugins installed properly, you would not see that error.

Thanks, but I don't know how it was possible for me to install them improperly. I downloaded directly from your site for openSuse13.2 and it installed. Sounds like a bug, but who knows. At least I know now that MP4 is supported.
