Building VLC on Linux.

Postby Lala » 21 Oct 2005 12:14

Hi Saravanan,

Thanks for answer for my question.

I have installed ffmpeg with ffmpeg-20041113.

But again ./configure gives this time not "missing header file ffmpeg\avcodec.h",

but "missing header file postprocess\postprocess.h".

I think the ffmpeg that I have installed is the old one.

Can you tell me which version to install .

Best Regards...

hi Saravanan

I have installed ffmpeg as you stated from other replays.

I have typed ./configure --enable-shared-pp --enable-shared --enable-pp --enable -gpl

as you stated/

But it gives --The Postprocessing code is under GPL and --enable-gpl is not specified--

So I configured by ./configure

And When I want to ./configure vlc it gives --configure: error: Missing header file postproc/postprocess.h.
--

What is the problem this time.
I am using Madrake Linux.

Best Regards//

Hi ,

This is saravanan .... U chk and locate that postproc.h file present in the system because when ur installin ffmpeg it will store all necessary libraries to /usr/local/lib but our vlc will look that library files in /usr/lib so u have to set library path or u can copy necessary files to /usr/lib directory then u can configure vlc easily ....

Try that it will work .....

Ok lala bye and take care ........ 8)
