HD-PVR : How to capture on Ubuntu

Postby prog-amateur » 06 Mar 2015 21:38

Hello !
I bought an HD-PVR 1228 model and I can't watch my TV decoder on my Ubuntu through VLC.
I plugged RCA from my TV decoder to the HD-PVR, and the USB from the HD-PVR to my computer.

Then, I open VLC and I go to "Video acquisition", on the top left. VLC can identify my HD-PVR but when I double click on it, it shows an error message :

Code: Select all

Votre média d'entrée ne peut être ouvert: VLC ne peut pas ouvrir « v4l2:///dev/video0 ». Vérifiez les messages pour plus de détails. les messages pour plus de détails. Translation (sorry for my bad english) : Your input media can't be open : VLC can't open V« v4l2:///dev/video0 ». Please check the messages for further details.
I saw that some people have alredy used this device, so I hope somebody can help me please.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Rémi (are you also french ?). Please find the logs :

Code: Select all

v4l2 error: cannot negotiate supported video format v4l2 error: not a radio tuner device v4l2 error: cannot get default format: Bad address main error: open of `v4l2:///dev/video0' failed
It seerms that I didn't set up my HD-PVR correctly, right ?

Sorry, I don't know what is verbose. Is this file correct ? On Error messages, I put Verbose on "2".
Next time, please bring more details, because your sentences are short and I'm not sure if what I provided corresponds to what you requested. Thank you.
