Fedora Core 3 VLC crashed when trying to open wmv files

Hi,
I checked the VLC feature list, and it seems VLC supports wma/wmv for both Windows and FC3 platforms. However, under Fedora VLC, when I tried to open a local wmv file, VLC crashed with "floating point exception" -- the Windows version is working fine

Any ideas? I am using VLC 0.8.2 on both platforms

I getting same error when trying to play WMV files on VLC on FC4. any way to solve this problem?
