Screen tearing with Compiz

Postby petran » 25 May 2013 14:53

hallo
I am using Ubuntu 12,04 64-bit with Nvidia drivers from Nvidia's site.

when I play a video I get tearing in VLC. Both window mode and full screen

I did mess with Compiz settings in order to solve the issue for other applications. Eg Smplayer with VDPAU acceleration plays videos normally both in full screen and windowed mode
also Flash videos with GPU acceleration enabled, play videos smoothly.

is there any setting in VLC that can solve this problem?

I use it for playing DVD discs and it has the best interlacing options when compared to other players.

Try OpenGL output.
