issue with sound

Postby manox » 29 Oct 2012 14:53

I'm using latest release of VLC on my xubuntu based HTPC and there is problem with audio. It goes silent in the middle of movie for minute or two and then sound comes back. I'm using Alsa audio output

I have similar problems. The sound cuts like a mobile with bad coverage.

If have experienced this on the same computer both with Sabayon and Arch linux, both 64 bit.

Kafeine on the other hand works just perfect (but lacks sub titles).

On *Ubuntu, you should really use PulseAudio. And it does not suffer from that bug.
