vlc voice activity detection

Postby madhusud » 21 Oct 2011 19:45

I was wondering if there was a way to use vlc to split a mp3 audio file based on detecting human voice.
I have a bunch of conference call mp3s with background music in the beginning and silence at the end.

I saw that speex has something called voice activity detection.. but the option for vlc seems to just be limited to enabling/disabling it for encoding.
Any tips on where to go would be much appreciated.

This may be feasible, but it would need new developments.
