The version is 1.0.6 in ubuntu 10.04.1. The same thing happens on windows using vlc 1.1.7.

Those crashes occur in underlying libraries (libswscale from FFmpeg, and x264). It could be a VLC bug, but that's not the most obvious reason.

i get the same error too while real time encoding .
