Capturing and streaming from TV card

Dear experts,

I would like to capture the TV signal and stream it from the HTTP local web server of the VLC.
The stream will be accessed by the browser using the VLC plugin.

Do you think that this is feasible?

One more question:

In http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation: ... re_Devices it mentions that capturing the signal from a TV card is feasible only by means of a couple of Hauppauge cards . From an internet search, these cards seem obsolete.

Can anybody propose me some newer TV cards to operate the same way ?
