vlc closes (exits) when play ends. it use to stay open

Postby gmc » 25 Aug 2010 00:47

When I play a video or audio track vlc closes (crashes?) when the track is finished playing. I do not have the stop and exit box checked in the config file. I want vlc to stay open so I can play track again on a different track without having to open vlc each time. I am using ubuntu 9.04. What do I have to do to get vlc to stay open after it has finished playing track????

What did you change ?
Version?
Start from a terminal to see if it's a crash or a clean shut-up
If it a crash proveide a gdb bactrace?

It has always behaved this way. I did not change anything to start this behavior. I have changed config file (play and exit) and (play and stop) looking for some change but no success. My version is 0.9.9a. When I start from a terminal the player gui exits same as not starting from a terminal. Terminal only reports "segment fault". If I start vlc with "vlc --no-play-and-exit" it still exits when play ends.
