VLC does not start

Postby BlackSilver » 02 Feb 2010 18:51

Once I updated VLC to version 1.0.5, it ceased to run. He does not give errors and not switched off, and only ceases to operate. In the list of processes can be seen that he has the state "futex_wait_queue_me". Same thing with Amarok.
Operating System - Ubuntu 9.10.
If Google Translate was not able to translate all clear, it is here described the same problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1243619.

1. By Synaptic
2. Ok, I unsubscribed http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu and re-installed VLC 1.0.2 from official Ubuntu repositories. It did not help.
3. Just uninstalled Evolution (except evolution-data-server). Not see the relation.

Actually, VLC should be in futex_wait* all the time. This is not an error.

OK, thanks. I'll look for other signs.
