Important notice for Debian/Ubuntu users

Postby giga30 » 25 Jan 2010 00:51

Hi,
After upgrading to Ubunto 9.10, vlc 1.0.2 does not play files directly from Internet without stuttering. So I followed the instructions in this post. I did not have debian-multimedia.org but I had libavutil; so I removed libavutil and then reinstalled vlc. After installing vlc libavutil49 reappeared. And vlc still does not play smoothly. (I can play the same file from Internet on Totem quite fine). Would appreciate any pointers/help.
Thanks!

Hi,
Just after I posted this query I tried the following and it seems to fix the stuttering problem.
1- Open Preferences in VLC
2- In the bottom left corner press All
3- Expand Input /Codecs
4- Expand Access Modules
5- Select HTTP(S)
6- Check "Continuous Stream"
