BLUE-RAY > VLC > MPEG4 > DREAMBOX 800 - Is that possible?

There a lot of BD rips on the net, but dreambox could not handle the stream from VLC transcoded them to 1080i MPEG2. Is it possible to transcode them to MPEG4 and watch them on dreambox?
