Exessive blue hue on VLC 1.0.2 / openSUSE 11.1 / Radeon x200

Postby esperantisto » 26 Oct 2009 11:00

I’ve installed VLC 1.0.2 on openSUSE Linux 11.1 using one-click install following the link http://download.videolan.org/pub/vlc/SuSE/11.1/vlc.ymp. Everything seems to be fine except for one annoyance: all videos that I try to play irrespective of their formats appear with an excessive blue hue. This problem does not appear in amaroK or Banshee. Is there anything I can do about it?

I don’t have nVidia. Do you mean, there is no remedy for Radeon?

A follow-up:

The problem turned out to be about the driver to my video card, not about VLC. After I’ve changed it from vesa to radeon (the proprietary fglrx would not work) by executing:

Code: Select all

# sax2 -m 0=radeon
the colors became normal.
