Postby LinkAge » 11 Oct 2009 22:00

Hey,

My problem is something like this, I've tried to watch rtsp streams
and everything works fine for a few minuets and then it stops.

the log info:
http://pastebin.com/me729f64

Does anybody have any ideas ?

*I've tested it with a 4 different rtsp steams, got the same result.

**I'm running Linux/gentoo with vlc 1.0.2

I am having same issue with streaming video http stream. I have played with the buffer settings etc. but no change. It seems that as soon as it runs out of the initial buffered content, it doesnt' go much further. Version 0.99 works fine but 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 have this issue.

Same problem, but with version .9.9 and 1.0.2.
Using Ubuntu 9
console

Code: Select all

avcodec decoder error: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)
sample vid
http://stagevu.com/video/adsyfiwnghgx
from forum
http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index. ... wforum=128
(don't test mr.brownee70 links they have a 60sec timer)
I've read the forum about the error and people are pointing fingers at ffmpeg... this is wrong, mplayer works on these videos not vlc.

after spending hours and hours playing with different settings(both mentioned in the forum and personal experiments) i was able to get the vid to play for about 70secs without glitch(required a http(s) cache setting of 60000ms, interlaced avi... and a bunch more that my brain doesn't want to remember).

Is there settings to get this right?
or
Why not just buffer the data stream and wait if empty?
please stop saying the problem is someone else code or my computer...

Hi,

This is a very critical issue for me ... and I don't think it is codec related since if I download the file and play it it works fine. Please help me ...

Here is a link of a video file:

Hi - can somebody at least point to where the error is originating from ? I want to resolve this very quickly as I am not able to watch streamed video on Linux.
