customizing control panel in full screen

Hi folks,

I have posted this question on another thread, but thought it might not get noticed, so posting it here:

I need some help changing the full screen gui panel - can you give me some pointers as to where in the code should i look?

how is the background of the panel formed - is it in code? And I see there are some images in modules/gui/qt4/pixmaps/toolbar - by replacing them and recompiling will change the full screen control panel ? Is there another alternative then recompile?

I have made some progress - the fullscreen toolbar is created from modules/gui/qt4/components/controller.cpp - now I'd like to understand how to do the following:

- I want to change how the fullscreen toolbar background looks, how would I add an image as the background?
- If I can't easily add a background, then how do I change the default color of the toolbar
