No audio in stream

Postby slackcub » 21 Mar 2009 23:14

I am trying to stream to a file the video from a camera and the mic that's built into my laptop. I can get the video just fine using /dev/video0. However I cannot figure out why I am getting no audio. I have used my mic with skype just fine so I know it works. I have tried using /dev/dsp and dsp1 as device names, but neither seem to work and they are the only dsp devices names in my /dev directory. Does anyone have any tips or options I could explore to solve this problem? Thank you! oh, I am using VLC 0.9.8a, ArchLinux.

Thank you,
David
