Postby michanux » 28 Dec 2008 22:55

Hello

The 'mpg' files run without problemes but 'wmf' files shutdown the interface completly within five seconds.
There are no messages about this mistake !

Hello

for example http://www.fraunhofer.de/fhg/Images/woh ... -91593.wmv crashes the interface on 'linux from scratch' and fvwm2.
The same movie runs on a 'Debian Etch' and KDE without problems.
I use vlc-0.8.6i on this two systems.

No, it just means that your VLC is miscompiled or misinstalled.

On your support pages in "developer corner" is no linked recommendation for ffmpeg. Should I use another one? Which?

I got it !
I updated the glibc from 2.3.2 to 2.3.6. Now I can watch 'wmv' files without problems
