Startup error for 0.98a Grishenko

Postby sinistra » 20 Dec 2008 01:41

I'm using the XFCE4 desktop on a mixture of unstable and experimental packages in Debian. When starting the VLC upgrade from unstable to experimental on Debian I receive a window asking to select a skin from a skin file. I do this but receive no GUI. Here's the error information from an Xterm. Can anyone read in this where I might be going wrong, or is this a bug? VLC seems determined to open a skin file (blend) from a Files directory that no longer exist even though a window allows me to select a skin from another file (vlc skin file) but after I get a 'skins2 interface error.' The same skin requested from the vlc skin file in my home directory is the same in the /usr/share/vlc/skins2 directory so in either place the requested skin file would be there.

Your install is broken or your configuration needs to be reset.

Thanks for your considerate reply. I'm glad to know it isn't a bug. Where can I find this file for editing, or can you suggest the proper proceedure to reset the configuration.
