VLC 0.9.3 can't output video

Postby deltatux » 04 Oct 2008 20:34

Hey guys,

I'm getting a weird error that I can no longer get video output on my VLC player. I opened it in the Konsole (using KDE) and it spat me this error:
VLC media player 0.9.2 Grishenko

Weird part is that the GUI says that it's version 0.9.3 but the CLI says it's 0.9.2. Any help will be appreciated. Regardless of video drivers, it will not play. I tried x11, xv and opengl. Also, what confuses me is where are the VLC configuration files stored now? I know during the 0.8.x series it was stored in ~/.vlc/. That folder is no longer there in my home folder. Also, i used the VLC version that was in the openSUSE VLC repository to install the media player.

My graphics card is ATi Radeon HD 3650 PCI-e and my driver version is: 8.53.4. I'm running OpenSUSE 11 (x86-64).

Many thanks,
deltatux

VLC is not finding its modules. It seems that you installation is messed up
