vlc will kill me , pelase help me

When i finish installing vlc ,i run it . There is nothing except error: usr/local/lib/libavcodec.so.51 :undefined reference to `av_realloc'

from the very little information you provided it's a bug in the ffmpeg package you use.

The process has no error , when i run ./vlc and the error will appear

You should really avoid to use Fedora Core 4. This is really unsupported version.

it would really better to "re-install" a newer version (Fedora 8 or 9)

i suggest you use fedora 8 and when you configure ffmpeg ,you should add --prefix=/usr
