Help with Terratec Cinergy C PCI

Postby OttifantSir » 12 Jul 2008 21:29

How do I make this card (SAA7134 chipset I believe*) appear, so I can enjoy one more advantage of the best mediaplayer ever created?

I run Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04 Hardy Heron LTS with 2.6.24.19-kernel.

Other hardware:
MSI P6NGM-FD
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz
NEC AD7200S DVD-/+RW/RAM
Western Digital Caviar GP 1TB
HIS Radeon 2400 PRO 256MB

And connected to a 22" Toshiba TV via DVI-HDMI cable

*Might be SAA7143 chipset, or any of the other possibilities with those four digits. I just distinctively remember these digits.

If it has a v4l1 driver ( and it is installed) you should see it in the v4l tab.

If it needs a v4l2 driver you need VLC 0.9.0. You can try a build from http://nightlies.videolan.org

I have managed to install it in Ubuntu 8.04. But does anyone know how to make a channel-list for VLC? I still don't know how to tune in to specific channels.
