Audio bugs and glitches

Postby Revenge2K » 11 Jul 2008 02:21

I was wondering.
Does anybody else experience pops and short short cut offs when playing audio?
when I listen to music I hear the music go off beat a little and maybe pop or drop a little (like WAY less that a fourth of a sec).
Does anybody know what's causing this problem? I'm using the GNU/Linux version.
If so.. can somebody tell me how to fix it because I notice it does it with all audio and even some in videos.

On all audio ?
Which audio output module do you use ?
any message in the log (vlc -vvv) when it happens ?

I dont have problems with audio in any other program... Totem plays everything perfectly but I like VLC a bit better.
No disturbance or going slightly off beat either... I just heat a pop and the playback slows down for like a few milliseconds and then you hear it speed back up.
That's what I'm really wondering about because that seems odd and I don't know what's going on to make it do that.

edit: oh and Ubuntu 8.04
