can watch DVB-T but can't watch DVB-S

Postby maiminh » 19 Nov 2007 03:36

hi
i am using DVB-T and DVB-S cards, and a use channels.conf to watch DVB-T by the command:
vlc channels.conf
it OK
but when i use channels.conf for DVB-S , i can't play
i wonder about the C-BAND and Ku, but when i try with C-BAND by 5150-frequency (the frequency i tunned by the command: szap -l 5150 pas8 > channels.conf) and i recieve nothing.
who know what the problem?
pls tell me, thanks.

I believe you should use the vlc option "--dvb-adapter=0" (for DVB-T) or "--dvb-adapter=1" (for DVB-S) to distinguish between the two cases. From the Linux-VLC point of view there are simply two DVB-cards which are organised by the same type of v4L-drivers and obviously the default adapter is DVB-T.

thanks for your consideration!
of course when i use 2 cards at the same time, --dvb-adapter=0 is DVB-T and --dvb-adapter=1 is DVB-S. the DVB-T is used well, but DVB-S isn't. When i use each card individually, the DVB-S can't play
note: i can play DVB-S well by the command ;
%szap -l 5150 -c channels-asat3.conf bloomberg -r
%mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
