VLC on Fedora 7 major problem

Postby Tux is Coming » 06 Oct 2007 01:31

I was having problems playing a certain file format (i think .flv or maybe something else). I did get it to work and play normally after reinstalling some library's. But shortly after that I, pretty much out of no where, VLC just stopped working. It won't even load now. The same thing happened with Audacity (so I suspect its related). If I look at the CPU meter, the CPU starts working and then just quits. I'm pretty new to Linux. I never had this problem in Fedora Core 6. I have tried reinstalling VLC and Audacity but the same thing all ways happens. So any suggestions.

My spelling and grammar may be off a bit .

Which YUM repositories are you using?

I recommend avoiding FreshRPMs as much as possible. Use Livna instead, along with the official repositories.
