Ubuntu feisty / vlc nightly error

Postby vaskark » 18 Sep 2007 14:07

I have Ubuntu Feisty and wanted to try the latest VLC (0.9.0 svn) so I added the repository and installed it. But when I try to start it nothing happens. I try again from the CLI and get this error:
/usr/bin/vlc: error: `/usr/bin/.libs/vlc' does not exist
This script is just a wrapper for vlc.
See the libtool documentation for more information.
Can anyone offer me some help?
Thanks.

Hi,
It's the same for me.
I have reinstalled 0.8.6 meanwhile a new nightly build.

K, works fine now. One question, though: vlc now looks like it has a kde-like interface and not a gtk2 one (which I prefer). Any way to get it back?

Thanks.

Edit: Oh wait. Nevermind. I found it.
