Noisy output in VLC

Postby rama » 26 Apr 2007 14:22

Dear all,

I am using now Fedora core 4 .After installing ALSA , I installed VLC in my machine. But to the pain ..I hear noise (errr.. sounds ) along with my songs..both in head phones and speakers.

My machine owns an inbuilt sound card.I have checked it with other head phones. Its same.I have tried with some other players like xmms,mplayer...Even then I couldnt fix it.

But in Windows XP, VLC plays good.

This is mind breaking since i am a music lover and wants to rectify it asap.

Some one please help me..

Thanks in advance.

Rama.

With recent updates to ALSA, they've enabled a lot more sound card controls. Check the card and make sure unused inputs are turned off, and unused gain controls are turned down. In KDE I use kmix; not sure what you'd use in GNOME.
