no MOD/XM playback in SuSE?

Postby systmcrsh » 22 Apr 2007 04:36

tried in both suse 10.2 and sled 10. if i install the package from the videolan.org repository, vlc will not playback any type of MOD file (MOD, XM, S3M, etc).

if i install the package from packman... i will have mod playback, but then my libmpeg2 is broken and lose mpeg2 playback.

any solutions?

Hmm.. mod files still exist? :-)

Can you supply me some mod/xm files so I can create new packages and test with them? Honestly, I just don't have any and thus did never test it.

But I'm willing to create new RPMs with the features for mod included.

Cheers

you bet they still exist! a lot of people still make music using this format (fasttracker, milkytracker, etc).

here's a small package with an example of mod, xm, and s3m:

there are a few other formats not included in there, such as .IT - impulse tracker format. i'll try to dig some up though if necessary. thanx!! :))
