In Fedora Core You would try a lower security setting.

Desktop->Administration->Security Level and Firewall
Change the SELinux setting to permisive and try again VLC.

Good luck and kind regards.

install ffmpeg?
ffmpeg is also installed, infact, when i run ffmpeg at the root, i get ..

[root@localhost ~]# ffmpeg
ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libavformat.so.50: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied

Ok!.

I had SELinux and Firewall enabled, i have currently disabled them, and now i'm not getting the error

Thanks
